doing my valve cover

hey guys im going to be doing my valve cover to my 91 eclipse none turbo
i will just like to know if i should be aware of any warnings u guys may have for me i dont wanna mess this up.

I recommend you replace the gasket but if you think the old ones look find just use the old ones. Also dont over tighten the bolts on the outside as well as the inside you can crack your valve cover if you do. 2 to 3 ftlbs of torque is all you need (aka just a hair more than finger tight) I used motor oil around the gasket for a better seal. Also used gasket sealer around the half moon as stated in the manual. GL

If you are planning on painting it, beware that the engine heat will turn clear coat a light gold color after awhile. I sanded down my lettering to a nice shiney bare metal, painted the rest and cleared it all. After a few months, the letters started turning gold. :thumbdown Finally just had it powder coated. Looks a lot better and is holding up perfertly.

i just bought mine from ebay a nice powdercoated blue valve cover,and brand new chrome bolts for it to i can wait to put this in friday.
im going to be buying a new gasket so thats no problem
what half moon whats that?

and also do the bolts break alot on the valve cover?
