heree they make you burnout...and honestly..i worry enough about snapping something off the line, let alone trying to spin my tires in water....we have a brand new surface on the track and i think they want to make sure no rocks tear it up

I've never heard that before. Did you go on an "Import" night? LOL! Just tell them you're AWD and don't need to do a burnout. Then go and pull 1.6 short times! :thumb:

Nope, just go between the watering holes. :thumb:

Yeah, I love watching the 16yr olds with FWD and stock POS tires doing a one tire burnout through the water... HAHA, makes me smile everythime!

theres no way around it...they spray the whole damn thing....one time my friend who races there a lot told them to let me by and they did..but they have to move this big orange barrel thing...###

Whenever i take my 1g i never do one. They dont even say anything. Its kinda like an option. I live in hickass country though. But i usually do one with the gst...

Ha! I can't imagine that shit...

"Hey get back here punk and do a burn out for the crowd"

No they dont.... but its kinda funny seeing a muscle car do a RWD burn out, and us AWD guys just stage... and rip shit up... no sticky hot tires needed :D

The fast AWD guys do burnouts purposefully sometimes. One guy does it all the time. Only way he can get good 60' times.

But on topic they don't make you do burnouts at RMR in Utah.

I remember I read an aticle in SCC or Turbo Mag, or something. This guy had an STI/EVO/DSM (don't remember that either) with a carbon clutch, and instead of doing an AWD burnout, he did a clutch burnout, to heat his clutch up. People would laugh at him, until he did some nasty launches. :thumb:

It is basically impossible to do a "awd burnout" in a straight line unless you have 5000hp.

I'll take a hit of whatever the fawk you guys are smoking.

I was just thinking the same thing. How would one do an awd burnout???

Its even cool when those RWD cars pull the front tires off the ground. The guys making big HP still need DR's even with AWD.

Explain this to me please, and give me a name of someone that does an AWD burnout to heat the tires. Shep doesnt, and last time I checked he had a pretty fast DSM.

They never made us do burnouts at Bremerton Raceway or Pacific Raceway, I just always went around the burnout spot. Although there was one time where I wasn't really thinking straight, and I just drove through the water and into my staging spot  I spun a little on my launch, but people were kinda pissed because the next 2 or 3 races had a small wet spot on the start line.

His name is Kevin White. He just spins his tires off the line if he doesn't. It's not like HUGE SMOKE. But it's enough to get the tires to grip better. 1.6xx 60' times seem to work compared to 1.7-1.8 wo/them.

im too scared to even try to attempt it....
i tried it once after i dropped in my jdm 6 bolt into my car...
I spun the tires a couple times, didnt make too much smoke...
now that i come in here, im too scared to ever try to do a burn out, i dont want to be humiliated at the staging lines if something breaks.

Damn, I am paranoid enough of my trans breaking, let alone them making me to a burnoout.

They don't say anything about it around here, but I live in a community where they are still stunned that DSMs and turbo civics beat all the F-body and Mustang guys. We got alot more respect this year when people were breaking into the 7s in 4cyls (1/8 mile_

Added note, most of the time people can run 7.2 w/o a helmet, jacket, or cage without getting too much S#$. Even let people ride along. Sometimes being from BFE has it advantages.

That's in Turbo magazine in the article about Al Friedman with his Evo. Crazy ass car.

Im planning to go to the track in the next few weeks with my new setup and some BF Goodrich drag radials. When you guys go to do the burnouts in the water pit, should I pull up on my ebrake, or is the pit big enough to keep you in?

Thanks for the help, dont wanna do anything stupid in front of all the people! :p

the pit should keep you in.... ok how bout this guys....i managed to get them to let me drive around the water box, but as soon as i did, he said....."you gotta spin the tires at least 1 revolution"..i was like ok shit head.....i say its hard on my drivetrain so your gonna make me do it WITHOUT water? asses

PS, i ran a 13.32 at 103.2...a personal best, nothing to brag about though
