Is that the Fosgate 200S? If it is im gonna be picking one of them up tomorrow on ebay for my 1 12" Memhis :thumb: I like the setup looks alot better then the uncarpeted crap i usually come up with

any custom work is progress, it is the only way you learn. saying that it does not look like crap. it is a little on the big side and the carpet job could be nicer, but if it serves the purpose you want, then that's all that counts

Well thanks guys, its the 400S amp for whomever asked, and yeah i know the carpet could be better but this was my first attempt, and it was all i could think of without losing my spare tire. Thanks for the compliments and the constructive criticism.

They are MTX Blue thunder 10s but i blew one a couple days ago so im gonna get the alpine type s or some polk momos

looks alright for a homemade thing...maybe tighten the fabric onround the box better, but its not too bad.

i think it looks good, and considering that the "worst" looking part to me- the carpet- the only place where that really looks bad is where your seats will be covering up. :thumb:

aim those subs towards the back and youll hit twice as hard :thumb:
really? i always aimed up & had great luck. not sure if i've ever had them facing back in my car. however, my setup would be hard to change around without major resconstruction. (see my webpage for why it would be hard to change) anyone with a box easy enough to move around in different directions, please do so and post the results.

as for the box, it's a DIY thing, but not BAD per say. however, that little board on the front needs to be recarpeted as well. wrap it around to the back & staple it. i can see the wood showing around the edges i think

Its cardboard not wood:) but the whole box isnt obviously just that lil flap, oh and found out my sub wasnt blown so im stickin with my bottom of the line subs, cause one i already have em, two nothing is wrong with them, and three im using the money i was gonna use to buy subs to go toward paint and a buddy club 2 kit

A little better quality carpet and a little more time spent smoothing it out as you lay it will make a major difference in appearance.

Try overlapping the fabric when you have an edge and then cutting with a SHARP single or double edged razor, this way the carpet will match up to itself perfectly and appear to be one piece.

On your recess if you are having problems getting it to lay in nice and tight, remember that it can be stapled. You might want to use some quarter round along the inside edge to give it a nice straight edge nad it will also give you a place to hide your seams, use one solid piece for the inside, ending at the quarter round and then wrap the face covering around the quarter round. just a suggestion.

Finally make sure you have used liquid nails all around the inside on every single seam, and if not too late use a ring for mounting the subs (the extra thickness will help with durability).

All in all though I will give a 9.5 for effort (darn west german judge) and a 7.8 for appearance (french judge was bribed).

Anyway... :thumb:
