I stripped 2 bolts on my valve body, went to mitsu and they were discontinued bolts who NOONE has in USA. So i went to a hardware store and bought stainless steel ones the approx same size. Just wondering b4 i install them do the tq specs change?? is stainless steel harder than the stock bolt? Stock tq on these bolts are 55-60in pounds what should i tq my new stainless ones to? Thanks alot guys i just want to do this correct:rocks:

I am not sure if the SS bolts would be as strong as some high grade steel ones. I would get some high grade steel ones and torque to factory specs.

The stainless ones should be fine. The torque spec would change if it was a headbolt or something thats getting torqued almost to the bolt limit. But since the valve cover is only getting torqued so you dont strip the head it should be fine at stock spec. In this case it doesn't matter because the bolt isnt even near its limit.

alright great thanks guys! i was getting a little worried, LOL, thats a relief, cant wait to have the car back on the road!
