The ECU determines how much fuel / timing you get based on the total airflow it calculates counting Karman Vortices and your barometric and temp sensors (all in the MAS)... then compares to tthe O2 sensor voltage (when under closed loop.. i.e. non-WOT).

If the temp sensor went bad (unlikely) your ECU would likely correct for this by adjusting your fuel trims.

If your Idle is bad.. more likely you have a bad ISC (huge sticky on this) or a boost/vaccume leak.
