ok some im planing on doing a paint job on my 2g but dont know if i should do it my self. i have some knowledge about painting cars. bumpers and side skirts are off as well all the light....... so what im trying to get to is if someone has done there own paint job and is it had..;):sneaky:

A good paint job is all in the prep and body work. Figure time painting the car is about 30 minutes total. Getting it ready for paint about 40-100 hours if you do it right. If you want to go cheap for your first try check out the thread on here about plastidipping a car

I spent about 80 hours sanding the 65 jag I have before it got painted. My arms were sore for about 2 weeks during the project. But the more prep the better the finished product. make sure to do glide coats after you think its all good with the sanding.

Painting isnt hard even if your nervous try it on a spare fender or get a hood from a junkyard. most stores that sell paint will give you alot of tips and info for the first time you paint a car. Dont be afraid to try it. Whats the worst that will happen you sand the car back down and repaint it again

All I can say is try and if it looks like crap sand it and try again. Learn from your mistakes and successes.

I'm glad to see the plastidipp thing is getting out there ! Check it out man, look at my profile pictures my cars plastidipp
