I have a 99 eclipse with a 20g turbo, front mount, k&n air intake, injen intake pipe, knkock off greddy type bov, aem wide band gauge, boost controller and i believe i do have a walbro 255 fuel pump, and fic550cc injectors. I guess my qustion is do i need bigger injectors cause i was told to get bigger ones, any help is really needed. Thanks

You shouldn't "Think" you have a wally 255, you should know. It's time to confirm that. If you're running a Wally 255 with no AFPR then you're going to over run the stock Fuel Pressure Regulator and begin running into extreme rich issues.

Just hitting on one more outstanding point from what you stated.

As for tuning, it looks like you're running a SAFC. You can go with larger injectors, it certainly wouldn't hurt, but I believe that the SAFC becomes (more) useless at the 650CC range. You should look into an alternate/better tuning solution. If you have a 99 then you most likely have a flashable ECU. Evoscan/Evoflash can get you a good way.

Sorry i am tuning with a neo and i am having fuel cut around 4500 rpm thats why i wsa told i needed bigger injectors but i am not sure. I'm still learning everything.

Ok then getting bigger injectors really would not be a god idea. So how would i cure the fuel cut problem or what would cause it to cut when i'm in heavy accleration then

My old friend that helped me do the work to my car had told me that the neo is the best thing to tune the eclipse with. He has it in his car and was teling me that he was getting 500+ whp. He is running 1000cc injectors so i guess i am confused now that i'm eing told different.

Sorry my wife just told me that she bought me an afpr and that it will be here on monday, will that help me out any with my fuel cutting out.

I have been finding that out lately about him. There has been so much of the stuff that he did for me that i am finding out that i should redo. Like anything to do with tuning my car. I spent a bunch of money and had him do alot of work for me while i was in dialysis and i am beging to see that i got screwed. He told me that with what i have now i would be fine with. So basicaly i should start all over

An AFPR will be a tremendous help in any given situation as you will have control over your fuel pressure (provided you have a working fuel pump). As for the fuel cut issues, you need to lower the boost a bit and reset your SAFC for the base settings of your 550's. Then, you need to make sure to be able to add a minoot amount of fuel to ensure that you are not running lean under any condition. Stick with a slightly lower boost level for right now.

Also, I would recommend a Fuel Pump rewire. We experienced fuel cut in my friends' GST until we rewired the Pump. He could then carry 18PSI all the way to redline where as before he would need to get out of boost at around 5200RPM.

You can pick up all of the parts that you need for the rewire at any local autoparts location.

Pep Boys has the relay and plug with wires for 10 bucks

So back to my original question are the 550's big enough for my turbo. I will in the near future i will be upgrading my tuning methonds but for now i just want to get the most out of what i have. i am gonna install my afpr real soon. But i all realy wanted to know is if what i have is ok or if i should buy a set of 750's. and that will cure my fuel cutoff.

If you are going to get link or evoscan... just wait until then and then upgrade the injectors to the size that meets your HP goals... buying 770's on a neo, then upgrading to link or evoscan, you'll want to have bigger injectors... Don't know if that made any sense. just upgrade your tuning device after installing afpr then upgrade your injectors.

Ok that makes sense so basicaly for now with the neo that i am using now 550's are plenty big enough but then why am i still having fuel cut?

It is a 99 and how do i know if i can reflash my ecu, But how about my fuel issue at about 4500 - 5000 rpm it cuts out .

thanks will start looking for an evoscan and in the mean time i will try to stay off the gas haha
