I have a 95 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD. I already have supporting mods and I'm about to get a evo 16g because I think I blew my stock t-25. Anyways, I already have a Walbro 255 HP pump. Do I also need a fpr? I'm about to do a rewire mod to the fuel pump so maybe that will help. I'm also installing my 660 injectors when I get my EVO 16g. Will a FPR be necessary or will I be allright without one? I searched for fpr's for the 2g and didnt find a complete bolt on one. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

B&M Commandflo is pretty cheap, you can get at baxters or online @ like dsmparts.com

pretty cheap but not 100% bolt on, you do have to do some cutting...

must get a fpg too (fuel pressure gauge with your fpr is a must if your going to turn it up)

B&m only raises fp psi, get a diffrent one such as aeromotive. you dont need one but it will make your car run better with one sense the walbro out flows your stock fpr. make sure you have something to tune them 660 because the fpr wont do anything for them.

Thanks for the quick advice guys. Do you know where I can get an Aeromotive AFPR for relatively cheap?

The Aeromotive is going to put you over $200 with the ss line($100). The B&M(~$75) will work just fine in most situations, but you have more adjustability with the Aero. Guess it just depends on how much you're willing to spend.

try, prostreetonline.com, dsmparts, or just go to the sponser thing at the top and search each shop and pick the cheapest shop. :thumb:

I believe they are like 350+ compared to 60 for the B&M, and why would you want to lower the fuel pressure psi? that would be pointless...

300 what, ive seen them for 125 then 80 for the ss lines. why would u wanna lower the pressure, because the walbro will out flow the fpr and cause your car to run like crap, u need to lower the psi back down to a good level so your car gives just the right amount of fuel. b&m is cheap for the money and a cheap product, yes it works but u need to adjust psi up and down. if you going to do it do it right and dont go short.

Some of us (Like me) are running a 255hp pump and bigger injectors. That can make you run piiiig rich. By turning down the base fuel pressure and then tuning from there, its much better off

Buy theirs for $144. Drop in install.

YES you need a FPR.

NO a B&M will not work. It's not even a FPR. Its a Fuel Pressure Modifier for you faint of terminology. A regulator regulates up and DOWN!

I have the B&M regulator and the 255 and I can get my pressure to go all the way down to almost 35 I obviously have mine set at 43. But I have no troubles at all with my setup.

Is the full throttle AFPR a drop in install like u say? does it come with all the fittings and a gauge, or do i need to buy those things seperate. Let me know everything i need to buy. I am building my car now and have a 255/680cc's/AFC/MAFT and im in need of one of these.

BTW what is base for 1g's isn't it like 38?

You don't need one until you are making 400hp. I did a little research on the subject and asked a couple of shops about what they thought.

RRE
"To tune the car correctly, you do not need a good fuel pressure regulator.
It helps, but is not required.
To get the car to idle correctly, you DO need a good fuel pressure
regulator.
The thing is that the 255lph pump flows a great deal of gas, more than the
stock FPR can handle, therefore backing the fuel up into the fuel rail,
causing the injectors to dump too much fuel.
Unless you are going to make over 400WHP, go with a lower flowing pump, such
as the 190lph."

Turbotrix
"Most people don't need then till around 400 hp but if the fuel is too rich
for tuning than you will need a regulator kit. It all depends on the car"

I also asked my local shop and they to said you don't NEED one until you are making over 400hp. Your idle might be effected though but I am running a 255 w/ 550s and I am running really rich but thats only because I lack a pocket logger and EGT guage so I can't really tune. Just my 2 cents.

As long as you tune for your particular fuel pressure level then it's not a problem. Generally when you put in a 255 your base fuel pressure shoots up 10psi because the regulator can not by-pass enough fuel to lower it (remember the regulator is at the end of your fuel system not the beginning!!) which causes the fuel pressure to climb.

In some cases working with a 55psi base fuel pressure is a big of a pain in the ass so having an AFPR setup will allow you to set your pressure back down to the stock level.

The B&M does only raise the base fuel pressure however some say they can get it down to a stock level using it. If that is the case for the money it's worth a try however I still would recommend if your going to spend the money go with a real external fpr.
