is there ANY way that anyone knows of or has even heard of building your own eprom ?
someone builds these damned things in a factory which means first, someone built the thing in a garage ... i want to do the same. i have or can get everything needed to make jacks cables and all. i just need layouts and pin-outs and schematics. any help here would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

and i could use some help checking out the different logger programs, are there any GOOD freebies out there? i have limited funds but enough electronics knowledge to choke a duo core!

If your on a budget and really good with electronics I'd say look into a Megasquirt system. You can get them fairly cheap and even cheaper unassembled.

+1 if you like your electronics, look towards megasquirt.

But with limited funds, you might just want to look into one of the loggers for 1gs. I think there are some fairly decent, and fairly cheap setups for you guys.

Agreed, if you want the ultimate EFI system for cheap, then go with MegaSquirt. I think this has been one of the single best improvements I've made to my car. I'm running MS2 extra, version 3.0 board, 400 kpa map(AKA the map daddy) And it has native wide band support. I don't think I'll ever out grow this system as it's being constantly developed by it's users. The software is free and there are even forums to help you out if you have a problem.
