Hey i was wondering what if anyone had any prior expierences with buying tint from advanced auto or online or any other car store. And wondering how is the quality? And how hard is it to do?Dont look to hard but i have never really done it..

Ive bought the black magic 5 and 20% from walmart for my s10. Until the cops made me peel it off, it was amazing. Very easy to apply but scratches kinda easy. Figure out what side of the tint is the clear peel-off film and what side is the tint. spray the outside of the window with a soap/water mix. DO NOT SEPERATE THE FILM FROM THE CLEAR SHEET. lay on, smooth out with a bondo spreader and use a hobby or exacto knife to cut to shape. make sure the spreader is constantly wet. now peel, spray the other side, peel off the clear sheet and lay on the tint. spray more soapy water and smooth it out. get all the air and water bubbles out and youre done. leave the window up and let it cure for about 2-3 days or so before you roll the window down. youtube is your friend :) have fun

What is the quality of the tint? Is it gonna last a while or is it just shit? and going to fade?

Tint from your regular auto parts will all turn purple or bubble, how do I know? I tried them all. Your best bet is to get some good Llumar tint,or 3M if your going to be doing it yourself. The auto part brand looks good at first, but it also will start to bubble. I know you can get 3m or Llumar off of ebay, as thats where I got mine.

As far as doing it yourself, it depends on wich windows your tinting. I only tinted the front side windows, and rear quarter panel windows on my 1g. It's not that hard it may take a couple trys, but if your a DIY kind of guy go for it. The rear window you should take to a professional as they use a heat gun and different techniques.

im almost positive i bought the black magic from walmart and it hasnt faded yet. key word yet. but its lasted me since last october

Ok cool yea i like to to as much as i can on my own.. So ill look around and guess find the best i might try the cheap one at walmart or advanced to see how it works.. If not ill look around for 3m. Thanks fellas

Sporty cars have really curved windows, so unless you use a heatgun then it won't look good. If it does it will only be temporary, it will come up later. I windwos that are not that curvy like a pickup, it's easy. The tint at O'reillys is pretty good if you get the one that says "best" on it.

Its alot more of a project than people think...Id say a good 40% of all the tint jobs that come in my shop are re-do jobs from walmart/home done tint.

if you want it to look nice and last a long time, take it to a shop that has the right tools, the skill, and the clean shop to do it in!!
