DIY Complete SS clutch line?

has anyone ever made their own complete SS clutch line from master to slave? I need to buy one but most vendor charge at least $60 after shipping/handling. extremepsi has one for $40 but again their shipping/handling is what kills the deal.

If anyone knows a cheap alternative please post here.

just spend the $60 and buy one, do you really want to be driving some where and your DIY one pop the line off the fitting and then have to pay ~$100 to get towed home then pay the $60 and have to buy one

really its gunna cost you about 25-30 just to buy the fittings and line you need

See how much your local commercial hydraulics shop would want to put one together for you.
The clutch line doesn't bear enough force to worry about building your own. It'd be fine. However, it'd be tough to do your own for $40.
 
I ended up getting one at extremepsi.com it was $46 including shipping. got to my house in 2 days. can't beat that! I installed it today and everything is great.
 
See? Not that hard.

Next time instead of bitching about the price, just research it first. Extreme PSI has been known for very good pricing over the years with fast shipping, it is WORTH the extra couple bucks they make on the part for their time into it.
 
Why not just make a hardline for less than $10? Thats what i do, and i find its the cheapest and best way to do it.
 
What would be the pro's and con's between a solid line all the way or a ss line all the way. I have a long enough piece to make a solid line, but would like to know if it will be worth it or not.
 
Obviously the only con would be it being a hardline as it wont have the flexibility as a SS an line. But you never have to move the slave anywhere except forward towards the rad when your doing a clutch or tranny job anyways. I just use the 5ft lines from autozone ($5) and its enough to run from the master to slave all along the firewall and side rail so it'll never be in your way.
 
Thats what Ima thinkin. I have to fix my block and I'll be going back together with my trans. I will probably run the solid line. I dont know if it will take a little slack out of the pedal, But I wont have to worry about a soft line blowin.
