Burnt out 2 dimmer switches that started smoking after radio install. Unplugged radio and new dimmer swirtch is fine. What did I hook up wrong with radio?

that have same problem after radio install. I had 1 radio wire connection wrong by making the ASSumption about hooking ALL same colored wires to all others. Well, one shouldn't have been where it was and had no problem tracing the 2 wires from dimmer switch to radio and finding wrong connection because I bought a factory service manual for $15 off ebay wich btw would recomend all dsm'ers to do especially turbo guys
