I've been having a problem with blowing my tail fuse and it just started happening outta no where. I was driving hit wot and then pop no more dash lights. Well i remove everything i had wired to that fuse and still blowing. so i start disconnecting things that i know of that run of that off it and still pop.

Electrical isn't my strong suit so I am kinda lost on where else to look, I got a wiring diagram from a member on here but I'll admit I am still a little lost on how to go about looking for the problem.

The first thing I tried was checking the dimmer switch that I had previously grounded out because the switch went out on me. I connected my volt meter (set to ohms) to chassis ground and poked the pos probe in each pin of the connector and proceeded to see resistance on each wire, is that normal? I would think the hot wire shouldn't show resistance.

no I was driving it and hit wot then pop, ever since then its been blowing fuses as soon as I turn on the headlights. car can run but as soon as i turn on the head lights pop

I'm just having a really hard time with this because I'm totally lost on what i should check and how i would go about figuring this out. I've never had to deal with electrical gremlins. Like i said I have a wiring diagram and have figured out that there connections between most of the stuff that runs threw that fuse so what i had planned on doing was disconnect those connectors and try the switch until it doesn't pop the fuse. problem with that s it get expensive with fuses and I can't see all the connectors inder the dash

ok so i have dismantled my car, took out the dash took out the, interior fuse box, basically unpluged anything I could find to find the problem and still popping fuses

ok so i have disconnected almost every wire connector behind the dash (oh yeah i pulled the dash so i could work easier) except connector B-76 which from what i gather is the connector that connects the headlight switch to the engine fuse box and still popping. heard of a trick to use a 15a circuit breaker and turn on the problem wire and start unplugging thing till i here it stop clicking. I did notice that my battery drained from what i guess is the problem wire. that's my update for now so I'll keep posting till I figure this out

so more questions? I have the inside fuse box completely removed, the only connections I can see that are still connected are B-78, B-76, B-77. from what I can gather B-71,B-72,B-73,B-89, don't have anything to do with the tail light fuse or relay. so i just want to make sure I understand thins right, the headlight switch on the steering column goes from the switch to connector B-76 threw the fire wall to the engine fuse block threw the tail relay threw the tail light fuse then back to interior? that's where I get confused, but If anyone could verify this I would very much appreciate it. I'm tired of second guessing myself. I've never had to read a wiring diagram and I gotta say it's really f-ing hard to learn with out help.

here's a pic of the diagram I'm going off of
