difference in 1g trans by build date

i have a 92 talon 5 speed,and have parts car with good trans. the build date is 6/90..... so is this a 90 only trans or is this a 91-94, and also able to use in my 92 without using cables?

Someone correct me if i am wrong, but since you have an AWD, the gearing will be different on the transfer case than on a 92 and up. If it was built 6/90, it is a 90. Anything after 8/XX is the next year in most cases.

Check the transfer case, if it's all steel it is a 23 spline output shaft. If it's aluminum it is a 22 spline output shaft. Your 92 is a 23 spline output.

you can easily tell by lookin at the shifters in the car take the plastic cover off and 90 ans 91+ are way diff.
