I found some inexpensive coilovers, DropZones for about 80-90 bucks for a civic hatchback. The ones for the DSM runs for about 110-120. I was wondering what differences are there between a civic's suspension and an DSM's suspension? Maybe I can put in a pair of civic coilovers for a smaller price.

The diameters on all the coilover kits are usually the same, so the only differences are usually spring height and spring rate. The civic probably has a lower spring rate than the DSMs, but I'm not sure on the spring height since that will depend on perch locations. There's a lot more to a suspension system than that, but those would be the primary differences that leap to mind.

You should be slapped if you're trying to save 20 bucks on some "drop zone" coilovers. It would be cheaper to spend 200 bucks on a set of H&R springs, since in about a month the DZ coilovers will sag and give you piss poor performance and ride. Requiring you to replace the springs again. So do the job right the first time. :dsm:

This post is officially dumber than the post about MAzda RX7TT Termostats fitting the 4g63 with slight modification.

Why not just sell the 4g63 to get a 1.6 Honda motor, youd save more money too. I hear VTEC puts turbo cars to shame.

get the ones for a dsm, unless you have a friend who is a machienst. i bout a set of coiloversoff and accord (40 bucks so why not) and i barely got them to work the rears were perfect but the front sleeves were 1mm too thin inside to fit over the shock so i have to file 1mm out of the coil sleeves and beat them on w/ a hammer. it works but it toook me about 5hrs to file out the insides. however a machine show could use a lave (spell) and get them out in 5 mins. good luck
