I've been trying to find a transmission for my car, they are scarce and expensive. i wanted to know if i could bolt up a 89 jdm galant vr-4 tranny + tcase without modification to my 91 tsi awd?

What factors will play in this swap?

i believe the JDM stuff has a different final drive than the us stuff- which could cause some issues. You should be able to google around and compare though. That'd be the only thing to consider, other than the fact that you could burn shit up, it ought to bolt up.

I'd check the final drives, and if they match, then go ahead.

why are you having so much trouble finding a 1g transmission? They are pretty plentiful, if you check on the classifieds, and various forums.

im looking for a cheap 1g awd tranny + tcase. im not looking to spend 600+. i've checked dsmtalk and the classifieds section but only found a couple. know anywhere else i could look?
