Did Ground Control revise their Koni kit?-Pics

I got my GC kit today for my 1G with Konis. According to the VFaq I have read like 8 billion times, the sleeve should go all the way down onto the strut housing assembly. However, on the kit I got today, there is a small ridge inside the sleeve for the fronts, and that ridge rests on the very top on the koni cartridge. There is no physical way this sleeve is going to drop down to the base of the housing.

Does anybody know if this is a new design and this is now how it is supposed to work, or is this a mistake/wrong product for my application? The instructions that came with it say its for a 1G but I wonder if it is different for Konis. Also, I notice that the VFaq is for GC's on a stock style strut. I just want to make sure I don't fk anything up by installing it how it seems it should go together.

That was the first thing I tried. The other end is too narrow to slip over the top of the Koni.

I am assuming I am goine to have to try to take the koni cartridge out of the housing, slip the GC collar on, then install the Koni.

What about that black like rubber piece under the coil, did you try removing that and installing?

I got it figured out. I removed the Koni from the housing, installed the sleeve, trimmed the rubber dust guard, then re-installed the koni after the sleeve had been put on the housing. Everything seems to be as it should now.

Are you using the rear GC sleeves for a 2g to use on the 2g rear koni's or did you use the 1 sleeves.

Did you install it with the ridge on the top so that the Koni cartridge lip fits inside it? I assume that's what holds it down against the stock housing...

As far as the question about the rear sleeve, I emailed Ground Control directly and they said that the 1g & 2g rear are the same outer diameter so it won't matter, but I would like to know what you used as well.

The notes on my invoice state 1G konis up front and 2G konis in the rear.

I called them and told them what I was doing and ordered over the phone.

Did you put the Koni in the OEM Cartridge or a GR-2 body, judging by the color. I believe it may only work with the OEM strut body.
