Only place in a 4g and awd tranny that have parts like that are: in the crank throws to block off the oil passages, in the transmision under the Viscous Coupler to retain the output shaft, In the diff bearings, in the detents for the shit rods, and in the reverse lockout in the shift rods.

All of them except the output shaft retainer would be very noticeable if it came from there.

well im just hoping it wont be that bad where ever it is it came from but i guess only time will tell..

+1 :thumb: I agree (or possibly from inside a broken check valve somewhere).

Does your shifter still have the detent to help keep it in neutral position coming from any gear position? That balls size suspiciously looks like one of the poppet balls holding the shift rails although it would really have to be abnormally loose to fall out.

I'm thinking it is the ball the retains the Viscous coupler. If it was from the crank, his motor would be done allready. And he'd have to break the end off a shift rail for a detent ball to get loose.

Its really easy to lose that output shaft retainer ball if you remove the Viscous Coupler. That seems much more likly.
