Why is it that randomly around some online parts shops, as well as around the forums, some parts don't fit a 90 DSM but will fit every other 1G? So far I have seen this most often with throttle bodies and short shifters. Any info would be great, thanx.:talon:

Still considering swapping my lights around, if I can take the time to sit down and figure out how. Wanted to rewire the stock front turn signals into running lights (though not DRL), and insert a relay on the corner light to switch the two bulbs there back and forth when the signal is on (leaving one on during normal running light configuration). Doubt I can just snip and swap the wiring though... haven't even looked up the bulb draws for the stock turn signal, or the corner bulbs.
Though I guess I could just run the stock side wiring through the relay, snip the center-blinker and wire it onto the actuation lead of the relay, if I could find one that won't burn out in seconds.
Then my only worry would be re-wiring the center light posts to the running lights, if the draw on them is low enough, or popping another relay on (cheap bastard that I am, wiring them in sequence) for a direct battery line with a fuse and resistor. Eclipsh, could you explain a little more in-detail? Does that give them a high/low functionality? Even though it looks a little dippy, the center blinker would be more visible to other drivers, and a good idea to keep, if hi/lo works. :)

Would look a hell of a lot better than the stock unlit center-blinky, IMO.

Yes it does give them a high-low setup. They are very bright when they blink now and at night look great lit up. I have yellow blinkers in there right now but I'm looking into options.

During the daytime they aren't very visible as being on and I want them brighter. I thought about going halogen but I'd worry about melting the housings. Also none fit in the stock hole unless I wired in fog light halogens.

I too have been looking at wiring in the side markers (front and rear) as blinkers but haven't looked very deeply into it. If you figure out something good let me know. :thumb: I'll be checking on ways to keep them as running lights and just adding a blink function to all of them. Maybe a relay that opens a normally closed line to the running light curcuit but when power goes to the blinker line it disconnects the running lights? :sneaky: :shhh: You'd have to split the system up to left/right side power supplies but that can't be too tough to do. *crossing fingers*

Well, it might be a little bit rice, and I don't know how day-visible they'd be, but I did find a set of ultrabright LED replacement 'bulbs' for the center-blinker sockets at the local parts shop. LED cluster with about the same footprint diameter as the bulb, but from what the salesmonkey was pushing, over five times as bright. Given enough space, I'd almost be tempted to smooth-sand the inside of the turn signal bit of the shinethrough, source a set of projectors, and slice up the back a bit to shoehorn them into place. Again, set up a ballast system direct to the battery, switched via relay from the main headlight wires. Boom, keep the popups, and still get the light-flood of a good projector setup. :D Only problem would come in with levelling the projectors correctly, while mounted into the plastic shinethroughs. :b

And cutting power to the side-markers when the center blinker line is powered seems like very little hassle. Just run the blinker wire through the relay actuator, and run the marker lights through the default-on post. When the blinker hits, it both lights up the blinker and actuates the relay, cutting power to the marker lights. When the blinker light turns off, the relay switches back, and boom, marker lights come on again. You'd just need a relay to handle each side.

My plan was to run one of the marker lights to the default on, and one to the default off posts, and just use the blinker wire to trip the relay back and forth, then rewire the former turn signal to the running lights and replace it with a white bulb. So the corner marker lights would pingpong back and forth, getting both front and side attention, if they were bright enough. :b Haven't found LED replacements for the little spade-connector style bulbs, nor resistors to prevent super-mega-fast-rice blinkyblinkyblinkyblinky syndrome, as seen at your local Civic.
