I know some people out there are looking to run bigger turbos on a sleeper-type setup. I have an SCM32 (54 trim) with the supporting mods listed in my profile. I was curious how the Dejon Tool Super-sidemount would hold up cooling higher boost without heatsoaking. They say it is rated to 400hp as well, I called Dave at dejontool and he said that the upgraded sidemounts can effieciently cool the 50 trim variants up to 18-19psi. But since I plan on running more along the lines of 20-22psi I also rigged up a C02 sprayer to combat heatsoak.
My reasoning for the Supersidemount was sleeper status and also that I had JUST paid full pop for my IC pipes when I had an 18G on there and switched turbos but wanted to keep my SMIC location.
I dyno'd my car the other week and put down 305whp/300tq completely untuned. Just all the parts bolted up and gas added. After the initial pull I checked the sidemount and it was still room temperature and no timing was pulled. After the second pull (2 minutes after the first) I checked the IC again and it was hot to the touch, so it only took 2 pulls to heatsoak the super-sidemount on my PTE 54trim. Now, this was at 21psi, which is what I am aiming to run on the street. With the boost set at 18 psi, it was pulling fine with no heatsoak for 5 and 6 pulls. So I think the Supersidemount and HRC sidemount are good on 50trims until 18-19psi. 20+ psi required that I spray the IC with water to displace some heat, so if you plan on running over 20psi on a large turbo with a SMIC, plan to rig up some sort of C02 or water sprayer on the IC.
