but is it the guys fault she didnt' know how to drive, was going to fast and wrecked? If those two guys hadnt' stop to help her, they would have never been caught and the parents of the girl who died would have gone after the parents of the girl who was driving, who coicidently lived. The crash would have been they were going to fast, inexperienced driver, crossed the line hit the other car. Which is what happened. How is it the other guys fault!? Yes losing your son or daughter is tragic, i've lost a couple of friends in hs as well as most of us. But this is udder bullshit. That guy was a bigger man for stopping to help than just driving away and not getting caught.
As far as street racing in japan when i was there, the cops showed up and people left driving like normal people. There were maybe 2 or 3 cop cars that showed up. They showed up when it got too big. When the cops showed up they would issue maybe two tickets for illegal parking. They didnt' inspect cars for mods or give people tickets for watching. You know what the accident rate was there, even with faster cars? A hell of a lot lower than here. Its about location and common sense. These idiots that crashed had no common sense racing on that road.

I'm glad that for once the person that the ricer hit didn't die, and it was the ricer who dies this time.

The guys who are being sentenced in this event are being so because they played a role in it's inception. When cops come to break up a street race, even the SPECTATORS are charged. If you are driving your car, and your buddy gets out and shoots up a liquor store, gets in your car, and you guys drive away, you are charged as well

These guys were an accessory. Kinda funny how this shit has never happened to me, or any of my friends because we are all RESPONSIBLE for ourselves, and do not engage in stupid activities with stupid people. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. I know that means nothing nowadays.

Regards,

Believe me man I totally agree with you,Im just saying my view on why the cases will never go our way..

It is super bs that they will put it on us,but hey we live in a world where people can sue mcdonalds for being fat !! Its almost like they are encouraging us to run if the person you are racing happens to crash.I know I am,Im sorry I refuse to lose years of my life just because mommy and daddy bought their little angel a car at 16 and she wants to be a little bad ass and drive like an utter freaking dumbass!!!Who freaking does stuff like that anyway(cut lanes, drive fast on curves) ,you know who jackasses !!
Im done with this bs,cuz it will do nothing but further myself out of street racing and fuel more anger..

Do you know what their penalties are if caught racing,or like in this case if someone dies ?

i think drivers training should include high speed and emergency training classes that teach people how to control their cars, cause i dont think enough people today "test" their cars to see what the limit is, so when something happens they dont know the cars limits and push the limits and when shit happens they dont know how to react.

That's EXACTLY right, except that people have no way to test their cars at all if they aren't spending time at the track - unless it's illegal. Try to learn how your car handles at the limit, by driving quickly, or maybe just spending some time in a local parking lot, and you'll be branded, ticketed, and stripped of your license - for trying to learn how to drive.

Sure, there are plenty of people who do those things just to be jackasses - but they're also a damn good way to learn, when that's what you're looking to do.

Problem with high performance driving school is that those kids will think they know how to drive and will drive like that all the time...and still cause accidents. Why can't they just drive like everybody else?

I'm sorry but this is total BS. Here I got another hypothetical situation that would be parallel to this story. 2 kids go to a party when they get there the driver goes and talks to some friends and while the passenger goes and overdoses on drugs and dies. Then the driver then gets put in jail for man slaughter because he brought him to the party...

No one made the girls speed they chose to do that. Neither of the guys were like come on drive fast its fun. They passed the guy and lost control and then died. End of story.

It is sad to see anyone die but why ruin the life of two other guys for no good reason? If I were black’s father I would be out for revenge on the family that lost the little girl. Because they took his son away from him just like there daughter was taken from them.

Screw the messed up judicial system! President Bush it is time to break out some pardons!
thats how the judicial system works..its gotta give blame to someone....one of my friends sold drugs to a couple kids and then told them NOT to drive when high on em...of course they drove and both of em died...needless to say my friend got 10 years in prison......those girls wouldnt have died if the other cars had just done a simple drag race up to like 60..(well no one really knows that) but it was obvious the kids wanted to beat these girls and just kept racing...eggin the girls on....he did stop..but too little too late....face the consequences.....do the time..get ur heads on straight...ur car isnt a rally car..no need to race miles and miles of twisty roads

I'm not sure what the penalties are over there. I usually ran. Stupid yes. Would I still do it if I was there, yes. Do I do it here? I did it once, never again.
I had a picture taken of me doing 160 clicks in a 45 click zone. I received an $800 fine. Ya big ouch. If I recall some street racers, the wangan (highway) racers have been pulled over for doing close to 200mph and they get $1000plus fines, cars taken away, along with their license.

wait.. so if the guy was a complete asshole and left the girl for dead.. he probobly wouldn't have gotten charged... WTF!! what are they trying to tell us.. heh.. gotta love america for beating the good samaritan over the head with a pipe...

First of all, I'd like to say that the second story never mentioned a word about the third vehicle, being the elderly woman, and only briefly mentioned the second car that collided into her. Although I don't know all the detail and the conditions involved in the accident, I would have to guess that the supra was traveling a bit faster than the posted speed limit, see as it continued to spin out of control after striking the woman and her dog. My condolences go to her friends and family.

Second, I would like to say that the girl in the 3g, although it was her fault, should still be treated with some respect ( people calling her a retard; saying she can't drive for shit...). I don't believe it is fair to convict ANYONE of homicide for her death; she was the driver, she had 100% control of her and her cars actions. My condolences also go to her friends and family.

This reminds me of some friends I knew in high school. Three kids I knew went for a drive after one had gotten his license. They were on a country road and he was speeding. He lost control of his car and hit something. To make a long story short, the driver killed his best friend, the passenger in his car. The third kid, who was in the back seat had fairly minor injuries, but still to this day walks with a limp. The driver was not charged with homicide, but rather some tickets and traffic violations. In this case, although I was friends with him, was the drivers fault and was responsible for the death of his best friend. After that day, he was never the same kid again. He knew what had happened, he knew it was his fault, and I know he deeply regretted it. He was found almost a year later, floating face down in a small lake a 1/2 mile from my house.

Yep. That is way jacked up. One has to take responsibility for ONES own Actions! It was very unfair what happened to these kids and I hope they manage to get out early and still establish their lives.

I know some younger drivers are pretty good on the road but hardly any 16 year olds know how to properly handle a Vehicle. With age comes wisdom and experience.. Well, not always. Sorry to hear.

My brother in law was in this one:

http://www.hollandsentinel.com/stories/041303/loc_041303001.shtml

To sum it up, he was in his golf, and his friend was in his supra. They WERE NOT racing. A old grandma pulled out in front of them and my brother-in-law tried to avoid her but hit her. His friend avoided them, but went onto the gravel shoulder and when the wheels got traction again it shot him across all the lanes and hit some girl walking her dog. Her mother was standing right next to her and had to watch it happen. Well my brother-in-law got a bunch of suspended license/no ins tickets and his friend was convicted for some sort of manslaughter/murder charge and is doing a year. All because some very old woman can't drive. She caused it and should have been the one charged
i am on local forums. according to the cops and what not they were doing at least 105. which could make much sense b/c the guy went out of control swerved across 2lanes then back. across a median hitting a girl/dog then going across those 2 lanes then down a hill then up a hill coming to a stop on the train track. 55 my ass.
