Hopefully this helps.

Recently installing a Megan downpipe and redoing the factory exhaust I had some not so perfect flanges. Stainless steel exhaust, My Ass!

I seen people file and file to get the desired results. Well I am lazy. Apparently a Harbor Freight Hand held belt sander (item#69859 seen in background) worked miracles. Only a few seconds and my flanges look great.

Muffler, excuse the rusted bolts and sloppy drilling.

aftermarket isnt always a perfect fit. body kits as an example need to be fitted and adjusted to the car its going on or it wont look right. sloppy drilling doesnt make a difference. just has to do its job

The Megan downpipe looked amazing, but I still need to flatten the flanges a bit and 1 had the tubing protruding from the flange. That definitely had to go.

You might be able to see where I sanded the tubing along with the flange.
