Dead cluster lights?

So, I was driving to work the other day around 5 or so and I went to flip on my headlights when I noticed that none of the cluster lights came on. I checked all of the fuses the next day when I got home from classes the next day and they're all fine. The other thing is that the fan for vents quit working as well. I didn't notice that precious little gem of a problem until I drove home from work last night, 20 miles in 29 degree weather with no jacket

Cliffs:
Cluster lights & vent fan quit with no reason or warning.
Fuses are all fine.
Really cold driving home.

Any ideas?

I would say check all of the wiring to make sure there are good connects. If its not a fuse then that must be it. If you gauge cluster didn't light up...what did you do when it was darK? :p

Thats my 2 cents.

I've also was informed tongight while a friend was following me that my tail lights are also now non-functional.

Had the SAME problem in my old honda, ill bet the parking lights and license plate lights are out also? After basically tearing down my dash in that car, the problem turned out to be a bad connection to one of the harnesses that the parking light wire (the wire that has 12V+ when the headlight switch is on parking lights or headlights). After bypassing the connector (cut off the parking light wire on both ends and soldered them together), no problems.

So basically, break out the multimeter and test for 12V on that wire at the first connection you find. Just keep checking connections until you loose it. One thing you can do, is, find a place where the wire has no voltage, then supply 12V to it and see if the lights light up. If they do, then run a wire directly off the switch (if the wire directly off the switch does indeed have 12V) to the point where there is no voltage, to complete the circuit (the ghetto way). Or do it the proper way, trace the wire back up to the switch and find the bad connection. Usually if you wiggle the connector the lights will flicker on and off, theres the bad one :D

i was driveing home and my dash lights and lights on the ac/heater knobs went out i ripped all the panels and ish off and couldnt find any bad connections like the previous posts said my tail lights also dont work i have 98 gs

This thread is old but when this happened to me, it was a fuse under the hood for taillights.

That is what happened, After I checked the fuse a second time I saw that there was a break in the fuse almost flush with one of the posts.:thumb:
