Ok i recently bought a datalogger cable and software and come to find out the plugs dont match up. I was wondering if anyone can tell me where the wires have to go to make the cable work? the laptop is a GATEWAY MX6931 Notebook. The back plug has 15holes and the one on the wire has 9. I know i have to get the connection but can anyone tell me which holes I have to tap into on the new plug?

The data loger cable is a 9 pin serial, the port on your computer is a 15 pin for an external monitor or projector. I had to buy a 9 pin serial to usb adapter you can get them at radio shack or off the net.

The 1G ECU runs at a unusual datarate that not all USB to serial adaptors support.
The KeySpan USA-19HS is known to work. At least one Radio Shack cable is know not to work.

Wow this was alot of help. Thanks to both of you. Is there any certain cable for the 1g that you would recomend? They are all kinda pricey. Luckily for me my computer has 4 usb ports. I'm thinking bout getting just the mini adapter but I will most likely get the USA-19HS

:talon: :talon: Does anyone know what stores you can buy one of the 3 adapters for a 1g at? I went to wal mart and all they had was one of the 2g ones. I really dont want to buy it online on one of those sites ### it ends up being more than if i would just buy it in a store because of shipping. thanks :talon: :talon:
