95 GSX - after going through the threads to make sure im not asking the same question someone already asked....

The coolant light, battery light, and ebrake light come on and off in unison...i know this isnt the alternator because it is brand new, and i havent had any problems with the car dying or headlights fading out, etc....car runs fine but the flashing dash lights are embarassing and annoying...help!

my guess is that your plug on the side of your alternator isnt plugged in properly try to push it in alittle and see if that helps

get the alternator bench tested or tested by it's self in the car ( do it all the time ) , as a last resort. But as what the other guys have said i 've seen brand new alternators good bad every once in awhile at work. nothings perfect...

yup,,,I second that,,it happens to me too :sneaky:

I 3rd that. I am on my 2nd new alternator that is going bad. I have changing alternators on these things down man. I hate this crap. The alternators I get from Advanced Auto suck. :talon:

Did you ever verify that it was the alternator? I have the exact same problem. Whenever the lights are on, the alternator isn't putting out any voltage, but when they go off, the alternator starts putting out 14 volts.

I'm having this issue too. I haven't checked the alternator yet, but I don't think that's the problem since the lights flashed a few times about 2 or 3 months ago and the car would've died by now if that were it.. sitting in L.A. traffic for hours every day.. It stopped happening back then or else I might've tried to look into it more, but today on the way to work it happened again.

I read on another thread that the dash lights are on the same circuits as the brake lights. I noticed that my dash light issue seemed to come on when i hit the brakes at one point and I do have a short in my right tail light. (wiggle the wire and it works fine)

edit.. whoops.. just now saw the date of the thread.. heh, heh..
