Ok so I have had Dsmlink v3 for a while now and I havent been using the No lift to shift option. My car is mostly a daily driver. I am curious to how many people use the NLTS option on a DD. Also what are the advantages and disadvantages using it on a daily driver? Some people were saying it's bad for the drivetrain, and some were saying it's better for the drivetrain because of closer rpm matching. Any input is greatly appreciated.

i would have to agree with the people that say its bad for your ride cause man that would be alot of load on you drivetrain all the time. i really dont see any advantages to using the NLTS while just daily driving, besides getting to 35-45mph faster but then what would the advantages of that be? faster way to recieve tickets?

I don't understand how you would use no lift to shift on a daily bases unless you rev out every gear? If you mean use no lift to shift from time to time on a dd car, then I see no problem with it. I have been using nlts from time to time on my dd for quite a while and haven't had problems so far.

I would only use it occasionally but if it is pointless on a DD,then I wont even bother to hook up the clutch wire. Sometimes I do like to accelerate to the speed limit as fast as I can. :thumb:

well if you mean you'd drive normal all day everyday but then use NLTS when someone revs you up at the light then its prefectly fine. cause i use to drive my car 120 miles a day and i have NLTS and only used it to smoke the ###s driving the 5.SLOWS,sti,srt4,and those other rice burners, what are they called....? oh ya hondas! LOL! so ya go ahead and hook it up and have fun.:thumb:

if i may ask what is there in black mountain road?

also what is NLTS? im still learning...!

NLTS= No Lift To Shift with dsmlink and other tunning software it lets you keep your foot on the gas while you shift gears without over revving the motor. hope that helps.

i use to live on black mountain road about 6 years ago and at the end of the road there was nothing so you could make acouple passes and then go home hahahahaahah.

Only take advise from people that have actually used NLTS. Anyone that has used it properly will tell you it is better for the trans and can knock a tenth or so off the 1/4. If you rev to the same rpm every gear and set the 3step limit to the exact rpm you will land in the next gear your pass will seem smooth and seamless. You don't have to worry about transient response anymore and NO buck or hicup or lag between shifts. Just only use it when you race and you will love it.
