Found a guy selling a 16G in my area, hoping he still has that because that might just change the plans I have for the car.
 
So in the last month I pulled the block out and found out what was wrong...

Since then I have picked up a new block and head since the old one was clearly toast.
Did an engine bay bath in the garage, and am now inspecting the block I picked up before rebuilding it to put back in the car.
