ive been lurking on the site for a while and this is my first post. i recently acquired a red and black 2tone 93 gsx. i hope to do all the work myself, but i am a pretty green newb. the car is not running, and my first two objectives are to: 1. get the engine straigened out in the chassis and 2.hook the front drive train up. i have studied on here a bit and know pretty well how to do both. my question is what is the best grease to use on all the spindles?

p.s. here are a few quick pics of the car when i first got her. more to come soon!

Nice car, I like the 1g's withou the flipup headlights. As far as your question the CV joints are covered by a rubber boot. If the boot is cracked and grease is leaking you have to replace the whole axle. Its better that way. May I suggest RAXLES.COM for that. I hope that answers your question, it was kind of vague so I'm not sure what your asking.

thanks, shes got a long way to go. i have two brand new cv ales for the car, but they are out of the car, and so is the transfer case. i want to hook it all back up and i was wondering if there was a specific type of lube to put on the ends of the axles and on the end of the driveshaft. sorry if it seems like a trivial question but i just want to make sure i do it right the first time.

For the transmission side, wipe some motor oil or tranny oil on the seal area of the shaft. It doesnt hurt to put some on the splined area but not required because they can be installed dry. For the hub end of the axle, use liberal amounts of anti-seize.

I've also heard great things from co-workers and friends about the Lucas Red 'N' Tacky, but I've never used it before.

Works great for engine assembly lube. I have been using it for about 14yrs now.
