I am finding too much resonance on my apexi gt system .I have downpipe with no cat and the gt catback.
I am thinking cut the downpipe and add in something like a vibrant resonator in 12 inch or 18 inch size they come in stainless and are not that expensive. Other option is a flo pro twister race bullet think also come in 12 and 18 inch sizes.
So I guess best way since it is stainless would be to just cut and clamp the unit in.I assume if I want to weld it in would have to use tig not mig? I don't want my new stainless to start rusting out at the welds. And not very familiar with welding.
Can someone enlighten me on this and has anyone cut their n1 or gt downpipe and added a resonator in there and how effective was it at cutting down resonance?
Also the apexi gt has two resonators already in there. Will a third really help? Does it being under the passenger compartment make a good difference since didn't notice much resonance with the stock system and the cat converter but did notice it more when cut the cat out and went straight pipe.Factory also has some resonators at the back of the car.
I am adding a new apexi active silencer to my car also but that won't do anything for the resonance just cut the sound levels down at cruise and idle.
