douglasville,
i cut off both fornt and rear balnce shafts off and left about an inch on them to eliminate them .. is this ok? am i going to have any problems by doing this except a little vibration??

you need to rotate the front balance shaft bearings to block off the oil passages or you wont have oil pressure...

I'm in the middle of swapping out my shortblock to fix CW and eliminated the b-shafts.

The front balance shaft was easy, we just moved it to the new block and have it sit there; we just won't connect the belt. The hole for the balance belt tensioner is plugged also using the tensioner.

The rear balance shaft which drives the oil pump is the one we cut. Using this method (http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/balanceshaft.html) we tapped the hole deeper and used a 25mm screw to plug the oil ports. That done, we cut the shaft about 1.5" down.

Hopefully the car will be back up and running this weekend.
