Has anyone removed their gauge cluster in place of a 7" screen and connected something like HKS CAMP/CAMP2 to the display to show RPM's, Speed, etc?

I was thinking about doing so, but not sure if its legal or not.

A member here modified his gauge cluster and fitted a Stack ST8130P digital gauge in the OE location. His name is Flash, I bet if you PM him a few questions he might be able to help you.

Looks good!

I wanted something where I could mount my GReddy Profec B Spec 2 and 7" Display (Navi/Radio). Then use the HKS CAMP2 to input sensor values. Drill a few holes for LED warning lights, etc. Would make for a clean setup.

I would do something like this. Obviously its missing a lot of info such as Fuel Level, Odometer, Tach, other warning lights, etc... but its a start

When I get out of work, I have to pull my gauge cluster out and measure it.

I'd like to have a 7" screen in there, but its going to be difficult to monitor speed/rpms while in GPS mode. Switching video inputs, while not hard, can get annoying when in the city and you're monitoring speed.

Here's a better mockup I drew. Hopefully the boost and turbo timer controllers will fit towards the bottom. Its hard to tell without measuring everything.

Although I might have more room mounting them on top. I could also mount the informeter in portrait mode, although the GReddy logo will be verticle on the device. Then I can possibly fit both controllers below it.

In this case, at least both speed and rpms are being always displayed. On the informeter, i can measure EGT, Oil Pressure, Fuel Pressure, and other vitals since it connects to the OBDII port.

The only things I won't know are SRS, CEL, and other warning lights. However, if I can figure out what wires control what and if they are a 0/1 (meaning on or off) I can simply make more LEDs in the dash that light up when something happens. I may have to mount the circuit board behind my cluster still. Hopefully I have room behind the dash to put the boost controller and turbo timer.
