i have my fuel pump rewired and just yesterday i was on my way to work when i got in my car and tried to start it. it took a few seconds of cranking and it finally kicked over but died a couple of seconds later. i tried again and the same thing. the third time it didnt even turnover at all. it just cranks, and cranks, and cranks. i check my fuel pump connections to make sure they were not loose. then i tried the fuel filter to see if the gas is even getting to the filter. i unbolted the nut on the top to where i could see the fuel and tried turning it over. normally this would end up in a mess, right? nope. nothing. the gas didnt even move. so my question is that, do i need a new pump or is it something else. i dont think it wouldnt be the starter cause it turns over fine it just wont bust off. n e ideas would help.

check the ecu to see if the caps leaked. :laser: im 95% sure thats what it is if u wired the fuel pump right. :thumb:

do the caps just leak just like that? oh well, i have another laser turbo that i can use the ecu out of. what about the fuel pressure? it doesnt look like its getting past the fuel filter. can the leaking caps on the ecu cause fuel not to get to the fuel rail? ill try that tomorrow and let you know how it goes. n e other suggestions just in case this doesnt work?thanx for your help.

sometimes my car would start and sometimes days would go by and it wouldnt the ecu was bad just replace it and see what happens im sure your problem will go away.

ive got good news and bad news. the good news is the fuel pump is not bad. the bad news is the ecu did not fix it either. so it has to be something between the pump wiring or maybe the relay. we wired the fuel pump up directly to the battery and it worked fine. so that tells me that it has something to do with the wiring.

can i run a toggle switch to my fuel pump? i think maybe my harness in the back is bad that goes directly into the fuel pump.

fixed my prob. some how there wasnt n e power getting to my fuel pump. so i unhooked the harness (the one with only two wires coming off it) to the fuel pump and installed a toggle switch. works great. cant believe it was that simple. thanx for all your help guys.
