I just got done reading around on V-FAQ and I seen a temp. fix for crank walk I was just looking at it thinking "I dont have crank walk but just in case" I ended up coming across the writer saying he had super low oil pressure and he was starting to Crank walk, my question is am I aswell? At a idel my oil pressure guage(after market cobalt) reads nothing and my stock one doesn't work at all, any theries on this? :thumbdown

Have you checked the connections on the sender for the oil pressure? Maybe they are dirty or unhooked.

If you had NO oil pressure at idle, your engine would be knocking like a two dollar whore wanting her money.

^^LOL there no knocks in the engine only a bit a lifter tick, the connections are ok :thumbdown it still shows nothing when all warm 80-90 when cold.

EDIT: guage is ok it shows pressure when reving and while driveing mabey ill throw some pics up in a bit..

My 2g crankwalked. Always had good oil pressure at cruising and WOT. However at idle, it slowly went down. When cold it was fine and would slowly fall as the car warmed up. Once it was completely warm the oil pressure would drop to 3-6lbs at idle, at the oil filter housing. So at the head I probably barely had any. Just my experience with oil pressure and a walked engine. I had a 60mm Greddy electronic Oil pressure gauge for reference.

Ok well I cleaned up all the wireing that has to do with my guage, I am reading 10 when the car is fully warmed up, I talked to the previouse owner and it showed sighns of CW 3 years ago and I guess he got all new bearings and some other stuff and its still running... for now

So do you think I'm getting no oil ressure because of something wronge with the bearings?

Low oil pressure at idle is normal for a 4G63. It'll raise as RPM raises. NO oil pressure is a death warrant for any engine. If you're seeing low oil pressure at idle and good oil pressure while driving, I'd say you're fine. If you're seeing low oil pressure all the time then yes, it could be excessive bearing clearance, or it could be any of 100 other things.

Yes low oil pressure is normal at idle. I would day a solid 10psi at idle at the oil filter housing fully warmed up is fine. However mine was seeing 3-6 psi which is not enough in my opinion. I didn't feel like dealing with a 6 bolt swap or Fwd anymore. So I traded it in walked and got a 99 Diamante for a Daily driver and a 91 GVR4 for the toy. Much better off this way.
