anyone know how to disassemble these? it is the type that is angled at the end slightly, and has a selector for direction. it got really notchy and squeaky and i took my one ratchet apart and cleaned and greased it, came out nice, looking to do the same with this.

I'm not sure how but I bet some carb cleaner would flush trash, and old grease out, and you could put some good lube down in there. I did the same to my ratchet, cleaned it good,a nd put some good lube in there, and it worked like new.

yeah craftsman socket wrenches are easy to take apart, just a snap ring and a plate and the whole assembly is right there. these ratcheting wrenches are so enclosed and tight i don't see how anything can be sprayed in there.

i know they replace stuff. it is not broken tho, so i would rather just service it and make it last rather than get something that is gonna just get dirty and give me the same problems again.

That's grounds enough for a replacement...I used to work in the hardware dept. at Sears and that was our policy- If it doesn't work the way it was when purchased, exchange it!

But if you really insist on repairing it and can't get it apart, you might be able to take it in and they can rebuild/lube the internals for you. We had a guy who did that in the store because a lot of people just want their old stuff fixed.

i got it apart with my press. its s 10 mm btw. what's holding it together is a thing ring, probably not much thicker than a human hair.
