I was porting my 2g manifold the other day, when I realized there were some cracks in the center divider. On one side, you can see the crack on both sides of the divider, and it runs all the way down to the runners. The other side has a crack as well, but it isn't nearly as long, probably less than 1 cm. Will I have problems with this manifold? I don't want the divider to break off and go into my turbo...I can't upload pics b/c I have too slow of internet, and my camera battery died. Thanks.

I don't even run the center divider. I took it out when I ported mine, well most of it.

Those cracks on the center devider seem to be pretty normal. When I took my mani off it had them as well & the car was stock for 20K & had only run about 15 more K on the stock t25 with the boost turned up. I used it as an excuse to upgrade to the SBR mani :D . As far as removing the center divider thats not the best idea. It was placed there to direct the exhaust into the turbo inlet.

The thing is, I bought this one to replace my cracked 1g manifold. You think it'll be ok if I just put it in how it is?

yeah I wouldnt remove it because it is there to direct exhaust to the turbo. The way it sounds I would use this opportunity to purchase SBR's cast mani. :thumb: :thumb:

Stay boostin

I don't really have the money for that, nor will I in the near future. If I did, then yeah, I probably would just get the SBR manifold. But do you guys think I will be safe with this? I don't ever plan to run anything higher than a 14b or evo III. Thanks.

If the crack isn't running horizontally across the divider or showing up on the outside of the manifold, you should be OK. I didn't know you were buying a 2G manifold, would've told you in PM about my already fully ported one sitting in my garage.

Yeah Bruce, I just picked this one up a couple months ago and now I'm getting around to porting it, as you know. :) I guess I'll just do what you say and maket it sharper at the edge and not worry about it. Thanks guys.
