Here is a pic of my VSS that I took out because my speedo and odometer quit working. Looks like its cracked. Also the pins were really dirty, I cleaned them but one pin looks like copper, the others look silver in color and there was green greasy stuff (like corroding copper) in with the dirt and crap. Something I should be worried about? Along the base where the cracks are it looks like it was melted back together.

In messing around tryin to get it back it, it falls apart along those cracks...I guess I'm gettin a new one.

I called Mitsu and they said that they cant find a "speed sensor" for a manual tranny, thats what its called for an auto?

I am looking in CAPS and can't find the part number. I found the illustration under M/T that says "speedometer gear" then I don't see it anywhere in the illustration. Can anyone help?

For anyone else that needs it, the part number for just the sleeve is MD756606 I dont know what the actual gear part number is. It cost me 78.74 + tax at the local dealership since I need the part now. :(
