I overheated my 92 non-turbo after that it was blowing white smoke out of the tail pipe so i put a new head gasket in it. After the new head gasket it was burning oil instead of coolant. What could cause this or what did i do wrong. It didn't burn oil before the head gasket or atleast not this bad.

Did you have the head machined flat again? Good chance the valve guides are burned up if you got it that hot. Do a compression test to see what you get and then try a leak down test if available.

Did you have the head checked for warping before you did the gasket? If not that is very likely your problem.

I used a strait edge and feeler gauges to check for a worpage and i checked the valve guides while it was off (ongoing oil consumption problem).

Ok and what measurments did you get with your feeler gauge. Also did you take the valves and springs out of the head when you had it off? If not how did you check the guides?
If you did take it apart were any of them cracked? Also did you replace the valve seals if you had it apart. If not a lot of times when you over heat it, the seals get hard and dont do their job and oil leaks through them. Let us know.

I couldn't get a .oo2 feeler gauge under the strait edge. And i put a little lift on the cams andd pushed the valve around with my finger and it didn't do it anymore than before. I couldn't see any cracks, Before i changed the head gasket after i overheated it it didn't burn oil just blew white smoke. so i didn't think they were an issue.
