Ladysmith,
Ok, I'm buying my long awaited dream project car, 91 tsi AWD, to replace my FWD turbo laser. I'm just buying the shell, and I'm towing it on a car dolley from Vancouver to Vancouver island. I know all wheel drive towing has been coverd before, but I need specifics.

I need to know, what size wrench or socket I will need to remove the rear axles. Is it just three bolts holding the axle cup the the hub, then the axle should slide out of the diff?

Thanks

My second not so urgent question is, I just recently rebuilt my head, after the rebuild, I have a CEL, If I pulled it right using my LED light, its the code for the coolant temperature sensor, my guage works, so I'm guessing the one for the ecu isnt, I think there's two on the thermosdat housing, both seem to be intact and everything. Since the rebuilt I havent been able to get more then 8 psi of boost, I did a leak test and found the only place I could hear a leak was from the turbo, I searched and found that it's probably my seal under the o-ring holding the centersection to the compressor housing. Apperently a fuel filter o-ring from a 2000 7.3 ford diesel or something like that will fit right in.

Im wondering if it's possible that because the ecu can't see how hot the coolant is its restricting the boost through the BCS (if that's even possible) or if that could be affecting things, because before I rebuilt the head, I had the same leak, and I was still able to get 12 psi unless is has gotten alot alot worse. If anyone has any insight to this that would be very helpful.

Thanks for your time.

"Loosen and remove the bolts holding the axles to the axle cups. This uses a 14mm box-end wrench and a 14mm socket"
I got that off of Vfaq... to see the whole deal go to this link-
http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html
then click drivetrain, then go down to the "4 bolt swap".. he's got pics of it all... from what i read, it take a 14mm to get the bolts off... i'm not sure on your other problem though

Yeh the Vfaq was the first place I went, but I wasnt clear on everything, after I undo those 3 bolts, the axle should slide out of the diff, or maybe i can just coat -hanger them out of the way  . and I didn't realize it said 14 mm there LOL, thanks man.
