Could This Be Caused By A Bad Valve Cover?

I have oil coming out of this hole. Could it me a bad valve cover?

I would say its cracked, unless you oil cap gasket is crap. The inner bolts are a common cracking spot.

I still believe its cracked. The only way it could be your gasket is that the rubber bolt hole ring thats a part of the gasket is broke/missing.

No visible cracks, its coming from the pressure hole.

Symptoms of a crack. If over torqued it will crack. Torque valve cover bolts to spec, no tighter.

Not over torqued, been on for some months now. As stated its coming from the hole in the pic.

You do realize that there is also the same hole in the front of the VC in the same spot also... Its a drain not a pressure relief hole. Sorry its not what you wanna hear..

Well sorry drain hole. So would it come out the front also?

Its a drain for any fluids building up in the valley of the cover you know like for water/oil. Its not the reason why your cover is leaking. If that was the case WE ALL would have leaks.

Clean and DRY very good that area, Turn ON your engine and see where it is coming from, I bet, it will come out of a Crack.

Waiting to get my ecu back from ecm and then I'll crank her up to see if theres a leak coming from a crack. Ill check back. Thanks

that's where mine always has oil too, and whoever had the car before me even JB welded it and it's still there. mine had been overtightened by someone. A couple of people told me to get "the right stuff" it's a type of gasket maker, they said it works great.

Yep valve cover is cracked. Time to either ghetto fix it with some Right stuff, get a new cover, or get the cover stripped, welded and re-coated/painted

Check the gasket on the oil cap. Those will harden over time and leak into the valley. It will accumulate in the area where you have oil.

Will do, waiting to get my ecu back then I'll watch it run.(upgrading to v3 and mtx-l so I can ask some more question)

Yes its the valve cover, take it off and look for cracks. Mine did the same thing and it didnt show the crack until i took it off. You could buy a new gasket and see if it changes anything, they break because the valve cover uses like 5lbs of torque, jus tighten with screw driver next time.

is the oil not always there? if its not it could be cracked because it will work its way out then when it sits will go back in through the crack

I agree, with this. I had a problem with oil getting in the valley before and when I got a new cap it fixed it. The cap physically looked ok but obviously it wasn't.
