So I have been dealing with a knock issue since I bought my car. I have replaced almost everything I can think of to cure it but with no luck. The car is worse now then ever, its almost constantly knocking. The knock goes away if I let off the gas and immediatly hit again. I was just out side looking and listening to the engine to see if something may be causing the knock and noticed that the injectors are very noisy. I know that injectors always make the clicking noise but these are really loud! With the knock sensor just below the injectors is it possible this is where the sensor is picking up knock?? Any help would be greatly appreciated, this knock thing makes the car no fun to own!

i doubt the injectors are making the knock sound.

its mostllily phantom knock and thats usually coming from the lifters.
how are u detecting this knock?

safc? if so the afc is very very unacurate reading knock.

These are the things i have already done to try and remedy this problem.

New walbro 190 (the car is an automatic)
Gen 3 lifters
New mitsu knock sensor
New mitsu 02 sensor
New timing, and all components associated with, all oe mitsu
New fuel filter
New fuel regulator
Fuel pressure gauge shows pressure is fine

About the only thing left of which I have read about are injectors and CAS. I had the timing belt done by luke at dsmotorsports to make sure it was done right, and the timing has been checked many times.

I use mobile 1 oil for my oil changes and always use atleast 93 octane gas.

To detect the knock im using a datalogger. any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I just pulled the ecu and it looks brand new. No smell, no leaks. I forgot to mention, i also replace the plugs with one step colder, new magnecore wires. I tried octane booster to see if it was a fuel issue, but still knocked. The injectors are very noisy though, put it this way, I have never heard injectors this loud before. Another thing I noticed is with the new walbro fuel pump. It always has a constant whine which is normal, but when I put the blinkers on, the whine goes to the blinker, and even when I hit the brake pedal there is a difference in the whine.

Thanks in advance
