Could bad valves cause misfire at idle?

They can, as can bad lifters, low compression, bad rings, dead/flaky fuel injectors, worn-out spark plugs/wires... there's a lot of things that can cause idle misfires.
 
Misfires at idle. Does it smoke...color? There are so many things that could cause a misfire. It goes from simple (wires or plugs) to valve seals, valves, lifters, etc. Be careful. I'll never buy anything unless I can drive it first no matter how good of a deal it seems.
