2G correct brake caliper bolt torque for fronts

im pretty sure my brakes are rubbing because the caliper is torqued too much and the pads cant separate from the rotor when i let off the breaks. what is the proper torque specs for the caliper bolts?

edit - it's the front passenger caliper
 
The caliper bolts do not hold the pads onto the rotors. They are merely guide pins that the caliper slides on to adjust to the pads (actually the guide pins are screwed into the caliper and the pins then slide into the caliper support bracket). You may have a frozen piston or a caliper pin is rusted (no grease) in the caliper support bracket. Pins are torqued to 54 ft-lbs, caliper support bracket bolts to 65 ft-lbs.

also i noticed there wasent a spec mentioned as to the banjo bolt for the brake hose.

and a question to add: is it bad to use two washers on the banjo bolt going into the caliper? i noticed when uninstalling that the banjo bolt had only one copper washer, i planned to put one on each side, will this cause an issue? or is it better that i have it this way with two washers.
 
(1) Remove slide pins, clean. Use wire brush if necessary.
(2) Clean inside of pin slot. Use Pipe cleaner brushes and a degreaser. Dry with compressed air.
(3) Throw some synthetic moly caliper lube on that thing.
(4) Assemble & enjoy functional brakes :thumb:

Torques are necessary also, but not to be functional. You can use your best judgement, but you risk stretching / breaking bolts that way. Also, anti-seize can go a long way next time you service your brakes.

okay, these specs are NOT the same for a 1G.... reason knowing why, it f***ng snapped. brand new part too, gonna have to try and tap out the slider pin now but first i gotta go buy the kit. :notgood:

2wd: Caliper to bracket (ft/lbs): Front caliper: 46-62 Rear Caliper:16-23 Bracket to Knuckle(ft/lbs): Front Caliper: 58-72 Rear Caliper: 36-43

i just got directX usage for today to check the torques out. these are the torques you want to look at. :cool:

4WD is the same.
