Copper Exhaust Mani Gasket?

Im ordering a bunch of stuff from slowboy getting ready to put on my head and i noticed that the only exhaust manifold gaskets they sell are the copper and the mls. Now i have heard different opinions about the coppers and since my goal right now is to just get it running id rather stay with the mls(plus its cheaper). But my question is do i need to do anything to make them seal properly?

No you need nothing but two flat clean surfaces on your head and exhaust mani.
