COP

Hi everyone,
Just curious has anyone ever attempted to make a C.O.P. system using AEM pencil coils? On their site it says CDI pencil coils and I know some people are saying that the COP design is useless unless you have a CDI?

Theres a few other coils you can use. you can use ones from an evo and i forgot the model but Nissan has coils that ill work to. its a coil with 3 wires instead of 2. correct me if i'm wrong though

You may be thinking of the Honda coils. As well as Suzuki GSXR bike coils too.

maybe idk. i think its like the early 02-06 altimas with the 3 wire coils.

The AEM pencil coils have 2 wires. A positive and negative, they have it on their diagram (the specs tab of their product page)

I'm using one on the gvr4 without Cdi and havnt had any issues yet. I Think I have 300m coils or somthing like that. I found the wiring diagram and was able to wire it plug and play. Had a extra 1g connector so it made it really simple. For my car since the coil packs are 20 years old and super rusted. I noticed quicker start up, smoother idle and no problems hitting 18psi! I'll get a Cdi down the road, for now it's working just fine. And If for some reason a coil fails. I have a box full of extra haha! Even have 2 plates to make 2 more cop setups. ;D
