cooling problem

Ok so i recently added a few parts to my car and now it seems to be running a little warmer than before.
First off its a 91 talon tsi. I swapped the oil cooler so i could run an air cooler, dropped in a fluydine radiator and added water wetter to 50/50 mix. Before my gauge read a little under the picture now its right on the picture. Any ideas?

Also i just blocked off the lines that ran to the stock ofh with high pressure lines and plugs was that the correct way?
 
By blocking those off your going to cause more pressure in the system which is probably why its running hotter because with the stock over flow tube to the overflow tank its not sealed air tight. Its just a guess but id say thats why ## temp went up.
 
Before i swapped the radiator it sat a little bit to the left. I was thinking a fluydine and water wetter would make it sit a little lower?

Straight up and down is perfect. Nothing to worry about unless it goes higher.

I have no experience with blocking the oil cooler lines so maybe someone else will chime in if it's ok blocked or if you should loop them together.
 
I know that straight up and down is good, but the car ran cooler before i put the radiator and water wetter in? I thought those would make it run cooler. I had that setup in my other car last year and it ran way cooler. Needle to the left way more
 
I JUST RAN A LONG HEAVY DUITY LINE AND CONECTED THE TWO.
BEHIND THE TURBO ALONG THE BLOCK. ITS WORKING PERFECT.

but yours should be fine.. i bet your set up might run a little hotter all the time.

but,be very very hard to get it any hotter then it is now...you could beat the crap out the car and never see anymore temp rise.
and i bet city driving you should have NO problems with heat.
ps iam not being a jerk what so ever..but.. the mods HATE THREAD BUMPING.
they might warn you about it.

Actually I'd like to know where that goes. When my friendly neighborhood shop installed my turbo, he blocked it off in a similar fashion.

that one looks like its for the oil cooler..is that a 2-g? if its the same as a 1-g..one is for the turbo the other is for the oil heat exchanger..well 91-94 is like that.90's had air-air coolers. what a mine? is that for coolant temp sensor? get a few more pics up..more level pics

This is a 2g. Looks like I need to make sure my turbo is getting cooled properly :ohdamn:
 
so..what is in the turbo? a bolt plug? nothing?
itshould have a small hose thats about 4'' from the water neck to the water feed on the turbo

As it turns out, the old (vintage 2006) PTE SCM34 has a journal bearing center that is oil cooled, so the water line was capped off.

Is there a better (and cheap) way to cap it rather than using the hose/bolt/cap system we both seem to use? The hose/cap method looks ghetto and the caps I use are for low pressure air lines and the heat tends to wear them out every six months or so.

get a 90 turbo water pipe..that is the only one with out the heat exchanger lines..but your going to have to still plug the turbo water feed and return
