Hello,
My GSX transmission broke down and will get it rebuilt later on.
In the mean time, I have a GST transmission and the matching front axles.
I'm trying to convert my GSX to GST temporarily to get the car going.
Does anyone know what I need to do and what are other parts I need to make this conversion work?

Thanks

I have never tried to but you "should" be able to leave the rear diff and rear axles in place. Its only going to be spinning the pinion gear into nothing. If you do take the rear diff and rear axles out you need to leave the outer cups installed because the rear bearings are meant to be sandwiched between the cup and outer nut or you run the risk of your bearing coming apart. Does anyone know if a fwd rear bearing/ hub bolts into the awd rear spindle?

There's no reason to remove the rear diff and axles.

And ^^ this reminded me the front axles are also different (larger at the diff, 27-spline vs. 25-spline on the AWD). So those, too.

I can confirm the read diff and axles can remain installed and driven without the driveshaft. I did this years ago on my last spyder that I AWD swapped. Did it over 3 weekends due to still needing to be able to use the car during my normal week. Drove it for 2 weeks without a driveshaft connecting the front and rear with no issues.

You'll need a fwd turbo flywheel also.
I kept my old flywheel, my mechanic told me that the starter is a bit too far from the flywheel and therefore starter won't start. Does that mean GST flywheel and GSX flywheel are different in sizes?

Did you have to change the starter, clutch or flywheel? For some reason, the current position of my starter does not reach the flywheel. It's a bit off and therefore the starter can't spin the flywheel in order to start.

Yes. That why I said you need a fwd flywheel for that very reason. Clutches are the same.

You also have to change the starter plate to fwd.
