i have a 1997 and if i wanted to convert to a 6 bolt bottom end, would i have to get a different block, or could i just use the crank from a 6 bolt? thanks.

Eh, it's one of a few suspects. Also mentioned are weak crank alloys, inaccurate machining, overly-lightened castings and poor bearings. I'm not sure I fully believe in any one of the guesses.hakcenter said:7bolt oil squirters seem to be the main cause of CW.
