**Sorry its so long, just wanted to get all the details I could in**
Ok guys, so I have had this car a little over a month now and this just started last week, it has been parked until tonight since the issue started.
It started off one night as a random cutting out under boost, it was a cold night in the low 30's and only did it once it was under boost. Didnt seem like a miss, reminded me more of spark blow out like my old turbo dodge stealth had at one time. I just attributed it to the cold air so I eased it home that night and drove it to work the next morning. It still did the same thing that morning so I decided to change the plugs and wires after work. Gapped the plugs a little lower to try to eliminate the blowout and figured I would be good to go.
Took it back out after and same issue. So I drove it to work the next day with the same problem of sputtering under boost only at that point. By lunch time the sputter was getting worse, coming on at lower boost. By the time I was driving it home from work it was cutting out when tapping the throttle in Neutral or in gear.
I got it home and started pulling plug wires while running checking for a dead cylinder (car idled fine with no miss at this time) and noticed with pulling #4 wire spark was jumping at the coil pack from 4 to 1.
Car acted as it should when pulling the wire off the plug by missing badly on every cylinder but #2. At this point I figured I would button it back up. While it was running at idle I unplugged each injector connector and starting @ #4 and that cylinder would drop out same for 3 and 1. When I pulled #2 inj. connector nothing changed. Figured #2 injector was bad at that point. After I plugged that injector back in the car was misfiring at idle and tapping the throttle car would stutter. So rather than swap injectors and test again I just ordered a new injector. I drove the car around the block to see what it was doing at this point with miss at idle now and it would barley accelerate. I would have to get the revs high just to get rolling and feather the throttle about 25% from closed to keep the rpms smooth enough to drive with out the mis fire hitting??
I just installed tonight hoping to fix the issue.
NO DICE!
Car is STILL misfiring at idle, I went thro the same t/shoting as last time by pulling the injector connectors and plug wires and this time when pulling #2 injector connector the car does have a noticeable change so I think the #2 inj did have some issue but the constant misfire still exists?
Im at a loss at this point. So far I have replaced all plugs and wires and 1 injector. All other injectors I believe are fine. I was thinking possibly coil packs were bad but I would think the car would be missing on more than #2 cylinder. only.
I did take it to advance when the misfire started and CEL came on and got a P301? WTF? #1 cylinder misfire but I found #2 injector bad and still having issue on what seems like #2 cylinder.
Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated. I am moving to Florida in less than a month and have to have this running reliably asap!
Before anyone ask's. The car is 110% bone stock down the the factory air box. Only thing on the car that would be considered aftermarket is the HID kit I installed the day I bought the car.
Thanks again guys!
