Well my car has a fuel pump. not sure what model but it's a high flow if i get the model i'll post it later, currently i have all bolt ons. stock IC and fuel system excpet the pump, thing is the car is not rich i think because it doesn't bog or smell like gas u know.

I was wondering a few things:
Is the best way to know if you are rich and in need of an AFPR or lean and in need of a pump to go to the dyno?
Also i am running a 14b and plan to run that until i sell the car, should i just put in an AFPR or also a set of 550's?
If i upgrade inyectors what else do i need?
Apex or a eprom chip??

Thanks

Well if its not a stock pump depending on what boost your running, you are probably running a little rich if you still near stock boost levels. If you plan to keep the car the way it is, you don't need a afpr or 550's. I would get a data logger or go to a dyno and use there wideband to tune the car. Also you could buy a used afc gen 1 for midly cheap and depending on what the car is doing(rich/lean) add or remove fuel. Are you sure the pump isn't stock?

the guy who sold me the car told me it's an aftermarket pump he bought online from a DSM vendor, not a walbro 255 cause i know that one, he said something about gallons, i'll contact him tommorow and let you know.

... LOL where you intoxicated when you wrote that?????... that was really hard to follow (I'm not trying to be a ass by the way, but were you???)

Huh?

ok..The pump in your car probably isn't a walbro 255lph fuel pump. If it was you would be quite rich with no other fuel or control. You probably have a walbro 190lph fuel pump or something smaller in the car. You wouldn't be as rich with a 190 than with a 255.

he said he got it on buschr racing
i think it's a 255

I'm going to put in a EGT gauge to check if the temp goes up when i turn boost up it's lean, if it keeps a steady temp it's good.

Anyways i think the only way of monitoring A/F ratio is Dyno right?

If your going to sell the car I would'nt worry about.

You probably have a walboro fuel pump, without an AFPR your car may run rich at idle and it may throw your fuel trims off also. At WOT it doesnt really matter. What has inspired your concern?

i got a good job and don't need to sell the car
that's why i am interested
Where could i get one of the bolt-on AFPR's that is available for purchase??
I heard some have massive back-order lists

You said you were going to sell the car.
Why mod it if your going to sell it?

search the parts catalog on dsmtuners, then look under fuel parts etc... you can find lots of different vendors. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I'm pretty sure almost everyone on here will sell there car eventually...
most of us should do it soon or something will up (again)....

you don't need any afpr or anything, I was running a 2g mas, ported 2g o2, ported o2 exh. mani. 7cm housing on my 14b, walbro 255, 3" exhaust, i logged it a few times and saw that my injectors were at 97%, considering you dont have anything done to the car, I would have to say there is no way you are out of fuel by only adding a new pump... thus you dont need new injectors yet, go smell your exhaust, put your hand in it and then smell your hand...smell gas.. how much? you said you dont smell anything, then you shouldnt be rich. by only adding a pump isnt he just ensuring that if more fuel is required then it is available? not that it WILL be pumping more gas into the engine. if your not bogging down or dumping huge amounts for fuel out the exhaust after shifts i wouldnt worry about it. get a logger, one of the better investments to make.
