Confused about trannie differences

Im very confused on this part, I have a Gs-T. Whats the difference in the trannies by year? I'm guessing the tranny is going to be different with the six-bolt, but what about the seven-bolt? Is it just the tranny mount locations or elcrical sensors? For a '99 is it true I have to stick with '97-99? And any of the differences, can they be over come?

Thx allot defiant. When ever I would look it up, I seemed to always find the AWD tranny. Now I know the code for the tranny im lookin for, F5M33.

P.S. If any one has a tranny in good condition or even a parts car with the tranny pm me. Im wanting to do the A/T to M/T, but I cant find a parts car in my years.
